GENERAL CAMPUS RULES
Any violation of the General Campus Rules will be considered defiance of administrative policy.
1. Keep our campus clean. Calavera Hills Middle School is a “NO GUM” campus. Glass containers are not allowed. No sharpees or permanent markers are allowed.
2. Do what you are asked the first time.
3. Be in class and seated when the tardy bell rings.
4. You must attend each class period assigned on your schedule or you will be considered truant.
5. Fighting or harassment of others, including sexual harassment and bullying, is prohibited.
6. Use, possession, or sale of alcohol, drugs, or tobacco is prohibited.
7. Problem items, including toys, are not permitted at school. (Examples are: squirt guns, balloons, rubber bands, skateboards, scooters, rollerblades, cameras, personal athletic equipment, walkmans and radios of any kind, etc.) Cell phones, Ipods, laser pointers, electronic pagers or “beepers”, video games are not to be brought to school. All such items may be confiscated and returned to parents on the last day of school in June.
8. Explosives or other dangerous devices are not permitted on school grounds (firecrackers, matches, knives).
9. Calavera Hills Middle School is a closed campus. Students are not permitted to leave campus from the time they arrive until they are dismissed from school. STUDENTS NOT INVOLVED IN SUPERVISED BEFORE/AFTER SCHOOL ACTIVITIES MUST ENTER CAMPUS NO EARLIER THAN 7:40 A.M. AND EXIT THE CAMPUS BY 3:00 p.m.
10. Walk your bike on campus (California law requires a helmet when operating a bicycle). MOTORIZED SCOOTERS, SKATEBOARDS AND IN-LINE SKATES/ROLLERBLADES ARE NOT PERMITTED ON ANY CAMPUS IN THE CARLSBAD UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT WITHOUT DISTRICT USE PERMIT. Skateboards and skates may be confiscated and returned to parents on the last day of school in June.
11. No running on campus.
12. Use of profane/vulgar language or gestures, including spitting, is prohibited.
13. Eat food only in the designated areas.
14. Students may not sell items for profit on campus.
15. A class disruption reported by a substitute teacher may result in Saturday School or other consequence.
16. Any items brought to campus, in violation of campus rules, may be confiscated.
17. No public displays of affection (i.e. kissing, holding hands, hugging, etc.).
18. Please report all absences to the attendance hotline- 331-6470.
19.To minimize disruptions during instructional times, please instruct your child that any forgotten items dropped off during the school day can be found at the front counter.
20. The Lost and Found will be emptied and forwarded to charity once per month, please check regularly for forgotten items.
EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
Calavera Hills Middle School offers a variety of extra-curricular activities for students throughout the school year. Students must have earned, and maintained, a “C” average (2.0 GPA) in their classes. However, students receiving an F grade in English or math may be ineligible for after school sports and activities.Students must have no “U's in citizenship and have good attendance to be eligible. An “N” in citizenship may result in a probationary participation period. After school detentions and/or tutorials may not be missed due to extra-curricular activities. For participation in sports sanctioned by the YMCA, students must follow all school rules as well as rules arranged through the YMCA.
