Parent University AT CHMS

On Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at 6pm, CHMS will host an important Parent University: The College Process Starts in Middle School.  CUSD middle and high school counselors will cover A-G Requirements, how to balance academics and extracurricular activities, community service requirements and options, and what colleges are looking for in student applications. Three sessions covering the same information will be at different locations for your convenience. Mark your calendars and RSVP to Rosemary Eshelman, Student Support Services Specialist, at to reserve your spot.

What are A-G Requirements?

These are requirements from the University of California (UC) and California State University (CSU) systems that all incoming college freshmen must complete in their high school.

"a" - History/Social Science (2 years)

"b" - English (4 years)

"c" - Mathematics (3 years; 4 recommended)

"d" - Laboratory Science (3 years; 4 recommended)

"e" - World Language (2 years of the SAME language; 3 recommended for UC's)

"f" - Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA) (1 year)

"g" - College Prep Elective (1 year)
