Student safety is our number one priority at CHMS.  As a driver, please be aware of the safety of others.  This includes in our parking lot and surrounding areas.  Please respect posted parking signs, bike lanes, driveways, and all traffic laws.

Students, please be responsible for your own safety and only cross in designated cross walks and watch for cars.

6th Grade Student Led Conferences

Dear Parents of 6th grade CHMS students,

We would like to invite you and your child to participate in our “Magnificent Me” Student Learning Showcase.  As you may be aware, CHMS held conferences in September for a limited number of students. The 6th grade teachers would like to open this up to the entire 6th grade. On the evenings of Tuesday (December 10th), Wednesday (December 11th), and Thursday (December 12th), we will be hosting conferences to showcase 6th grade student growth and learning.  This event will provide the opportunity for all 6th grade students to directly share their successes in learning this first semester through a process of self-reflection and presentation.

Here are some details about the event:

Date: Tuesday December 10th 2019, Wednesday December 11th 2019, Thursday December 12th 2019 (choose only one date to participate)

Time: Conference sessions 5:30 - 6:30 pm Dinner/Exhibits  6:30- 7:30 pm

Location: Middle school gym

Please choose a date and sign up by using the link below or at by December 9.

Thank you,

6th  Grade Teachers

For information on High School Selection, please visit our Counseling page.  This page contains valuable information on campus tours, shadowing opportunities parent nights, and much more.

All 6th graders should be bringing home a blue t-shirt order form on December 2nd. The purchase of the shirt is not required to attend camp.  It's available for those that would like to have a piece of camp memorabelia that they can also wear for our Thursday School Spirit Days the rest of the year.  Shirt orders are due no later than December 20th.  The cost is $10 with Child and Adult sizing available. Shirts will be passed out the Friday before the students depart.  For those that order one, it's fun for them to wear them on that day for the bus ride up to Camp Marston.

The pink Health History Form for 6th grade camp is due February 14, 2020.  However, it can be turned in at any time, even prior to payment.  It would be extremely helpful to start receiving them before Winter Break. Your student can hand it into their Advisory teacher or drop it off at my desk in the Counseling Room.  If you are unsure if your child will be attending, send in the form and it can be pulled later if need be.

Regarding payments, the last day for that is also February 14th, however, before Winter Break is always helpful.  Please contact Holly Grupe with any questions or if you would like to set up a payment plan. or 760-331-6462.

Pine Community Center in Carlsbad offers fun events for teens!  Please see the attached flyer for their schedule of events.  They are also hosting a Winter Wonderland Dance on Friday, December 6th from 7-9pm. The cost for entry is $5.
